About us

"Sam" ... the beginning ...

Always a dog lover from a child and having a reputation for bringing home all the strays in the area it wasnt hard to predict that I would have my own dog as soon as I possibly could ! My parents finally relented when I was a teenagaer and I adored him ! A black lab cross puppy from friends. However , it was to be many years later , married and with my own family before I finally brought home my long dreamed of ...boxer pup ( about 13years ago ) a brindle boy who we called Sam. We were in touch with Boxer rescue for over a year waiting in particular for a young boxer/ puppy, as we had never lived with a boxer I was a bit dubious about taking on an adult with an unknown history .And so it came that we were put in touch with someone who had a litter of undocked 8 week old puppies and Sam came to stay .He was an absolute joy in every sense of the word and filled my home and heart with imeasurable pleasure and unconditional love.My heart was shattered however ,just short of his 6 th birthday when I had to help Sam pass to Rainbow Bridge.... he was my once in a lifetime dog and my constant companion from the day he entered my home, I never went anywhere without him.His untimely departure was down to an embolism in the spine which paralysed him overnight, and to be perfectly honest he had much more than his share of illness in his short life due to one thing... When I set about looking for my first boxer , I was niave... and couldnt see past the cute bundle I had gone to visit.I learned only later that the breeder had bred the mother of Sam back to back constantly and she was in fact around 8 or 9 years old when she whelped the litter Sam was in.There were other issues I since discovered and I vowed there and then that should I ever have another I would first need be much more knowledgable . I never regretted having Sam, I only regretted the pain and suffering he endured, but found confort knowing that he had a wonderful life, albeit short , with me .
He sowed the seed in me ...
And so about 9 months later I found myself with another Brindle boy... and soon started thinking about showing, although my boy wasnt show quality I had great fun at ringcaraft classes and met many new friends. With encouragemnet I set off on my search for a show pup... I then brought home my girl " Stella "!... and the rest as they say is history !
Sam , who left his pawprints firmly in my heart , taught me so much ... and because of him I am where I am now... blissfully happy with all my boxers who all have impeccable health records & fantastic tempermants.
